Looking for an activity for Remembrance Day? Try sending a Postcard for Peace! You can send a card to “Any Canadian Forces Member” or to “Dear Veteran”, to thank our servicemen and servicewomen for the sacrifices. (Click the links to find postal addresses.) You can choose from a number of long-term facilities across Canada, who will pass on your card to a veteran. Or you can choose to send your card to a currently deployed soldier in one of several locations worldwide.
Another option is to send an e-card to a soldier or veteran whose email address you know. Or you can just send a card to a friend as a reminder of this important day! Go to the VAC web site for free Remembrance themed cards. Lastly, if you would like to post a public message to our troops, go to the Canadian Forces message board.
There are a number of other resources at the Veteran Affairs Canada web site. Check out sections for teachers, youth, kids, and Veterans Week 2007, among others.
